What Sync Actions Supported?
Formstack Sync can Create, Read and Update data for the following objects. In parentheses is the name given by Force.com CRM for an object if different than the Formstack Sync name.
Click on the Action to learn more about what these actions mean.
Action | Contacts (& Leads) | Company | Opportunity | |
Read | X | X | X | |
Update | X | X | X | |
Create | X(only leads) |
Depending on the other systems you are integrating, you may not always be able to Create and Update data for all of the above objects. When you click on Auto-Generate Mappings in the Mapping screen, if any of the above objects does not have a Mapping option, you'll only be able to Read the data from this Object. So you'll still be able to map the data from these Objects over to the other system, it will just be Read-Only.
Custom Field Support
- Custom fields are supported by Formstack Sync.
Required Field Mappings
- Leads must be mapped in order to create records in Force.com.
Important Functionality Notes
- Leads must be created and manually changed to contacts, accounts or opportunities.
- While there is a configuration setting that allows creation of other objects besides leads, the standard configuration follows the limitations listed above.
Use Cases
- Using an automated marketing tool to create new leads in Force.com.
- Syncing marketing insights from an automated marketing system to Force.com.
- Syncing sales stage and status to an automated marketing system.
